LARRY J. ARKFELD
Attorney at Law
BACKGROUND

I have practiced law in Yreka for over 30 years. Most of that time I have been representing persons disabled by injury,  illness or other conditions that makes it very difficult, if not impossible, for them to work.
All of these cases involve medical issues and the proper medical information must be presented to Social Security if the case is to be successful.

FRUSTRATIONS AND REWARDS

It is very frusterating to see so many of my clients in severe finacial staights as they try to fight their way through a very complicated and beaurucratic system. They may have had to live on credit or to borrow from family just to stay afloat. It's not unusual for some to have lost everything while the system grinds on.
But is so important to never give up!

The personal rewards come to me when we fight the battle for benefits for several years and finally win! The change that such a victory brings to the lives of my clients and their families makes the frusteration worthwhile.

In the meantime we try to reassure the claimant and help find other ways or resources that may be available to help with living expenses and medical treatment while the Social Security case moves through the system

ABOUT HEARINGS:

Social Security Disability Appeals are held before a Judge who sole job is to deal with such appeals. In our area the request for hearings are referred to the Eugene Oregon Office of Hearings and Appeals.
The hearings  for Northern California and Southern Oregon are held in either Medford or Klamath Falls, depending on which is closer to the claimant.

The hearing is very important as its the first time the person making the decision in your case actually meets with you face to face.

FREE CONSULTATION

You can have a free consultation in the office or by phone. I will be happy to answer your questions and advise you on how best to proceed with your case to increase your chances of winning benefits
